How does it work?

Brickwork Repair and Replacement
Bricks are spoiled and damaged over time. Trapped moisture and entrance of water are the biggest culprits. Facades repointed and repaired with cement lead to major damage. Cement blocks the joints and doesn’t let them breathe. Moisture which is trapped goes through a thaw/freeze cycle and also paint over the brick façade also prevents evaporation.
Applying additional pressure to masonry is another major problem in for modern day brick homes. Sandblasting and pressure washing are some cleaning methods which affect the original patina of brick which works as sealant.
When bricks are no longer capable of being repaired and damaged, they can be replaced and removed with salvaged bricks. It can be labor intensive and slow process and it is not easy to get exact bricks that match so often we try to repair the bricks with a special mortar instead of replacing them. We have experienced craftsmen to match the exact color and shape of original material.
